The first time Lowna Dairy won a Food Award was for our Rowley Round in the British Cheese Awards 2003. Tom & Tricia Wallis collected the Silver Medal Winner’s Award from the Judges and were truly inspired with the industry recognition that his master cheese making skills had awarded him and Lowna Dairy. Described by the judges as;

‘Rowley Round is a fantastically clean and fresh tasting goat’s milk cheese with a fresh grassy finish. A firm but creamy texture that melts in the mouth with a refreshingly true sensation in the Goats Cheese sector.’

 

We were further delighted to have won the coveted “Best Goat Cheese and Reserve Supreme Champion 2004 Award.” Tom & Tricia Wallis collected this award for Hunsley described by the judges as;

 

‘A wonderfully fresh aroma of herbs and a dry, yet creamy, melt in the mouth texture. Wonderfully well balanced with fresh clean flavours – very appealing – thyme predominates the finish a true star and a must try cheese.’
